New Virtual Care Rules (OHIP):
OHIP will cover VIDEO appointments for existing patients and medical abortion patients.
To QUALIFY as an existing PATIENT, you must have been seen in our DAY CLINIC within the past 24 MONTHS.
ALL other patients (new patients, previous virtual only patients, Quebec patients, non-OHIP/out-of-country patients) MUST book a PAID MESSAGING ($75) to be seen. To RE-QUALIFY for virtual care, you can book an IN-PERSON DAYTIME APPOINTMENT via our PATIENT PORTAL.
Please select your reason for visit carefully. A $50 additional fee may apply for incorrectly booked appointments.

ELIGIBILITY:
(Must meet one of the following conditions)
- Follow-up visit of test results
- Abortion Care
- Must have been seen by Dr. Kam or been seen in the daytime clinic within the last 24 months
CONDITIONS:
- You MUST select "video" and (not messaging)
- Must be located inside the province of Ontario during the appointment time
Patients that do not meet the above conditions will be charged an additional $50 fee for modifying the appointment.

Please note that the above button is only for patients who want to see a physician for any reason excluding test results or to obtain a medical abortion. If you require a medical abortion or want to review your test results, and are from Quebec or another country, use UHIP, or have an expired OHIP card, click this button to book a virtual care appointment.
If you choose a PHONE visit, you will then be asked to choose an appointment time, and to fill out a questionnaire prior to your scheduled time. You will also be given the opportunity to upload any relevant photos if necessary. At or around your scheduled appointment time, a physician will contact you by phone to discuss your concerns. Following the visit, the physician will email any relevant documents to you, that you can then print and use as if you had come to the clinic in person.
If you choose a VIDEO visit, you will then be asked to choose an appointment time and to fill out a questionnaire prior to your scheduled appointment. You will also be given the opportunity to upload any relevant photos if necessary. Prior to your scheduled appointment time, you will need to be logged onto the virtual care site (powered by Insig) and you will have an opportunity to speak with a physician through a Secure Video Chat (similar to FaceTime or Skype). Following the visit, the physician will email any relevant documents to you, that you can then print and use as if you had come to the clinic in person.
Note: For Technical Support or Virtual Care Booking Issues call 1-844-322-8806. The staff at Onyx are unable to provide technical support to patients. Make sure to clarify with the support team that you need help with Insig specifically.

Yes, this platform has been approved by the Ministry of Health and the Ontario Medical Association as a secure and valid form of communication between physicians and patients.
Yes. A $50 hold payment fee applies to expired healthcards.
Yes, you may still see a physician, but you will be required to book a PAID ($100) visit.
At this time, we do not accept UHIP or any other third party insurance coverage. You can still book a PAID ($100) visit, and then submit the receipts from your visit to your insurance company. However, at this time we cannot guarantee that the cost will be covered by your insurer. We encourage you to check ahead of time.
Effective December 1, 2022, we will only be seeing patients virtually for medical abortions and to follow up on test results.
