Clinic Policies- Please Read
Services provided at the Onyx Urgent Care Clinic will be provided on a first come, first serve basis excluding those situations requiring immediate medical attention. Please note that the following policies apply to all businesses in the Onyx Medical Centre, including: Onyx Urgent Care, Onyx Medical Aesthetics, Onyx Physiotherapy, and Refresh Pharmacy
- Last patient registration at the Urgent Care Clinic is at 11:00pm
- We reserve the right to close registration prior to 11:00pm due to clinic volume
- Out of consideration for other patients, physicians will only deal with one issue per visit
- WE WILL NOT PRESCRIBE OR REFILL NARCOTIC, BENZODIAZEPINES, OR OTHER RESTRICTED MEDICATIONS (Due to CPSO regulations)
- Procedures, injections and completion of forms are at the discretion of, and subject to evaluation by the attending physician
- All new blood work, imaging or other test results are reviewed daily by a physician. You will be notified directly of any ABNORMAL results. We do not routinely call patients with normal or negative test results. If you are concerned, please come in during operating hours to follow up and discuss your results with a physician
- Referrals will be made at the discretion of the attending physician
- Completion of forms (e.g. Disability) are subject to additional fees, and are completed at the discretion of the attending physician
- Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times; children’s safety is entirely the responsibility of the accompanying parent
- Services not covered by OHIP (sick notes, travel advice, driver’s physicals) must be paid for at the time they are provided, in accordance with Ontario Medical Association policy
- Patients with invalid or expired health cards are required to pay a $50 Hold-Payment charge. Once health card is renewed, replaced, or a valid health card is brought in with the receipt- our clinic will immediately reimburse you
- Onyx Urgent Care is not a Family Physician’s office and therefore does not provide continuing care
- We do not book appointments with specific physicians or disclose their schedules
- Disruptive, rude, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in police being called
- We expect patients to follow the posted policies when requesting our services
- Violators are subject to removal from the facility and may be refused service and are subject to removal from the facility
